24-7PressRelease.com Comments On How New Website Owners Are Finding It More Difficult Than Ever to Launch A New Website

April 23rd, 2008 by admin

NEW YORK, April 23 /PRNewswire/ — Marketing and promoting an online business today is significantly more challenging than it was back in 1994 when Yahoo first started.A large contributing factor is the sheer growth in the number of web sites launching every day jockeying for Internet real estate. This is especially evident over even the last 4 years. Before 1999, marketing and promoting a website was easy. All you were really required to do was submit your website to Yahoo, DMOZ, and a few other large directories and search engines and presto, you have traffic. As long as you had a decent looking website and responded to customer service enquiries, you could earn repeat customers.Today however is more difficult and you have to be more creative than applying the basics. Adding your company to Yahoo Directory may help marginally in the terms of ranking with search engines, but that is pretty much where the buck stops. If you are considering listing with DMOZ, expect to wait upwards of a year or more. And sending email requests to sites that are relative to your industry and requesting back links? Forget it! With the amount of spam flying around the Internet, you will be lucky to receive a 2% response rate.Times have definitely changed. The dynamics on the Internet have changed and Web 2.0 is here. This means from a marketing perspective you must become engaged in blogs, rss & press release distribution to announce your business and build customer trust. Start a blog through blogger.com, create RSS feeds for your website content. The best bang for your buck would be through a press release. An excellent press release resource is 24-7pressrelease.com. Teraphysics’ Scientists to Describe New Developments in Terahertz Vacuum Electronic Oscillators

April 22nd, 2008 by admin

CLEVELAND, April 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — A golden coil smaller in diameter than a human hair, a glittering intricately shaped diamond pin embossed with gold and no longer than a thumbnail-these tiny structures that may represent the future of high frequency electronics will be described this week in four consecutive presentations by Carol L. Kory and James A. Dayton, Jr., doctorates in electrical engineering from Teraphysics Corporation, at the Ninth International Vacuum Electronics Conference (IVEC) in Monterey, California. Both structures are the essential components of novel 0.65-terahertz electronic oscillators under development at Teraphysics, located in Highland Heights, Ohio.Kory, who specializes in complex electromagnetic computer simulations, will present the first two papers describing the design and predicted performance of the two devices, which are known as backward wave oscillators. Dayton, chief technology officer of Teraphysics and inventor of the devices, will follow with two presentations describing the innovative fabrication technology that has been developed to create these two oscillators. There are several collaborators from across the country who are co-authors in one or more of the papers, including Gerald T. Mearini, founder and president of Teraphysics, who holds a doctorate in experimental physics. The other contributing co-authors and collaborating organizations are Dean Malta, Matt Lueck and Christopher Bower of RTI International, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina; Joseph Tabeling of Applied Diamond, Wilmington, Delaware; Scott Worthington of Hana Microdisplays, Twinsburg, Ohio; and Christopher Holland and Charles Spindt of SRI International, Menlo Park, California. The Electron Devices Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the largest professional organization in the world, sponsors IVEC. Dayton served as the first general chair of IVEC in 2000. Kory has served as the technical program chair of IVEC in 2004 and 2008. Since 2000, IVEC has become the premier venue for the presentation of work in the field of vacuum electronics. Several government agencies, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Army Research Office, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Air Force Office of Scientific Research, fund the terahertz device development at Teraphysics. The immediate interests of the government funding organizations are for applications in homeland security and space research. However, the terahertz band is the only unutilized segment of the electromagnetic spectrum. Numerous additional applications in medicine, pharmacology and communications have been proposed, but have not been pursued because of the lack of a practical source of radiation in that frequency band. This development at Teraphysics seeks to fill that gap. Both oscillators operate on the same physical principal, the interaction between an electromagnetic wave and an electron beam propagating in a vacuum. Also, both devices feature an antenna fabricated as an integral part of the device that radiates the terahertz power. Both devices utilize an innovative electron gun design that is fabricated as an integral part of the device, and both are designed for mass production. However, they are fundamentally different in the construction of the component that slows the electromagnetic wave, which must travel at the speed of light, to the speed of the relatively slow electron beam. One device uses a tiny coil of golden wire to slow the wave, while the other uses a complex comb-like structure fabricated from diamond.Kory, who holds a doctorate in electrical engineering from Cleveland State University, began her career in vacuum electronics as a student intern in Dayton’s branch at Glenn Research Center in 1992. Dayton and his colleagues at NASA have developed numerous devices for the NASA missions Cassini and Mars Observer and for the commercial communication satellite industry. Dayton, who received his doctorate in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois, retired from NASA in 1998 to accept a position as director of technology at Hughes Electron Dynamics in Torrance, California. He returned to Cleveland and joined Genvac Aerospace, the predecessor of Teraphysics, in 2001. Mearini holds a doctorate in physics from Case Western Reserve University. He founded Genvac in 1994 after completing a postdoctoral fellowship under Dayton at NASA.ABOUT TERAPHYSICSTeraphysics Corporation () develops powerful, efficient and compact devices that operate in the millimeter wave and terahertz bands, the only commercially untapped portion of the electro-magnetic spectrum. The Ohio-based company has engineered the world’s first palm-sized terahertz signal source capable of broad application in this coveted frequency range.Contact Gerald Mearini, president, Teraphysics Corporation, 440-646-9986. The service leverages Anacomp’s robust docHarbor(R) business platform, including high-volume document capture, scalable online document repository and flexible business process management (BPM) software-as-a-service (SaaS). InvoiceLogistix transforms incoming paper invoices into digital images from which invoice data is automatically extracted, validated, delivered into the A/P workflow for approval and payment, made available for easy access online and, ultimately, archived. By accelerating invoice processing through automation, users can decrease data-entry errors, better manage cash flow, eliminate late payment penalties and take advantage of or negotiate for early payment discounts. Furthermore, by utilizing automated invoice processing on an outsourced, on-demand basis, users can accelerate such benefits with minimal initial investment and involvement of their own IT resources.”Competitive companies today are willing to outsource certain finance functions that are not core to their business competencies, and as such they desire solutions that are easy to use, scalable and flexible enough to meet their specific needs,” said John Turner, Anacomp’s Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. “InvoiceLogistix meets such requirements by leveraging a proven, on-demand platform and outsourced SaaS that helps users reduce the costs, IT involvement and risks that come with implementing and adopting new technology.”Numerous industry studies illustrate the increasing costs of manually processing invoices. A recent IAPP survey placed the average cost to process an invoice at nearly $8.00, and concluded that as much as 70% of these costs were tied to manual document handling and data entry processes. According to the Institute of Management and Administration (IOMA), invoice processing costs have risen 37% over the past few years while A/P staffs have shrunk by 34%.”AP departments are being tasked with increasing workloads in an environment where paper invoices remain the dominant medium and the volumes of which continue to rise. Meanwhile, the challenge remains to accurately extract the needed information from those invoices, even down the line item detail,” added Turner. “We have many customers already scanning their invoices as part of their payment process, and InvoiceLogistix allows users to take the next step to automate and streamline the entire process for rapid, accurate payment.” Key InvoiceLogistix functions offered include: — Invoice reception, opening, sorting and preparation — Imaging and data extraction — Data matching and validation — Content management, approval workflow and export — Document storage — 7.5 years included with the service — Reporting and analysis — Professional service, support and trainingMore information about InvoiceLogistix can be found at IAPP is dedicated to providing its members with the necessary resources to succeed in the ever-changing accounts payables environment. DALLAS, April 22 /PRNewswire/ — This year the excitement of planning an international trip of a lifetime also comes with the reality of a weak dollar. While you may think that your pockets aren’t deep enough for traveling overseas this summer, STA Travel has expert tips to make a summer getaway affordable. Here are STA Travel’s tips for planning a great summer getaway on a manageable budget. — Pre-Book Everything — There isn’t much you can’t purchase prior to departure including tours and activities, accommodations, international cell phones, and travel insurance (and the list goes on and on). You can literally save hundreds of dollars by paying for these items here in the U.S. rather than battling the exchange rate while away. This also helps to lock in your budget before you leave and cuts down on unexpected expenses along the way. To really lock down your travel budget, book a package tour that includes lodging, transportation and in some cases food for an inclusive adventure. For example, embark on a 14-day European tour that includes accommodations, activities and entertainment as well as most meals for $1,694. — Exchange Your Currency at Home, Not at the Airport ATM or Abroad — Along with pre-booking your travel must-haves, you can also purchase your foreign currency online at before you go. STA Travel allows you to buy from a selection of 100 foreign currencies and have them conveniently delivered right to your door. Even better, if you return with left over funds, you can exchange them back at the fixed rate of your original purchase. Much better than walking around with 40 Euros for the next 3 months! — Consider Alternate Entry Points Into Europe — While London, Paris and Rome may be convenient, some alternate entry points can save you hundreds of dollars and offer much better availability. Brussels, Munich, Manchester and Zurich are all wonderful alternatives. From these locations, you can catch the rail and see the European countryside through the comforts of the train. The rail can also save on your accommodations. If you plan your arrival at nighttime and jump on the train, you can catch some z’s on the ride and save yourself a hotel stay. — Anyone for Asia? — Alternative entry points are always a good idea but what about some alternate summer destinations to help you cut considerable costs? Thailand, Uruguay, Panama and Costa Rica are locations where the dollar is considerably strong and offers everything a student traveler is looking for including food, music, culture and lifestyle. While the cost of the air ticket won’t differ greatly from Europe, the on-ground expenses for these destinations are still a bargain! — Save While You’re Away — Take advantage of even more international discounts with your International Student Identity Card (ISIC).
